no definite reason for my 2010 platinum to flash the airbag light on my dashboard. already borrowed a friend's OBD2 scanner and shows a B1049 error code. I tried resetting and all but still it shows up minutes later. everything else works fine, I don't feel anything faulty at all making me more confused as ever. anyone here familiar with this issue? help me please.

Sorry I'm not really knowledgeable about this stuff but I just wanna say I'm watching this thread because my 2010 SE's airbag light is also blinking. 🥲 I don't know if it's related to my HVAC issue so I will update you if I get an answer.

the blinking airbag lights usually bcs there are issues with the airbag system, if I were you, I would take the car to be checked by a mechanic, a certified one

Have you tried discon and reconnecting the batt? Just try leave it off for at least 10 minutes, at least that's what helped me before. If not it must be wiring issues. If you're not knowledgeable bout it you can take it to the mechanic like @MathProfessor here said.

Hey @tylernotthecreator, any updates?
I remember renting an SUV, but not an Armada and got into the same situation.
I had it immediately checked and the problem was the spiral cable in the steering wheel.

I think you need to have it checked, resetting will not fix it if there really is a problem.
This is true, the code is already there so you can bring it to the dealer or any mechanic you know. Resetting it will fix nothing. Error code indicates its a problem with an open circuit in the airbag's clock spring..

Its usually an issue within the airbag system, specifically related to a sensor or wiring problem in the system. Even tho everything seems fine, the airbag light could be triggered by even just a a loose connection, faulty sensor, or wiring issue, often under the seat or in the airbag module. Since resetting didnt work, its best to have a professional check the wiring and sensors, as airbag issues can be very tricky to diagnose without the proper tools.
